Mission:  Our goal is to strengthen our community by promoting, encouraging and equipping the development of character in every sector of the community.
 
 

The City of Lee's Summit supports the Community of Character program through the following:

  •  Martin Luther King Service

  •   Mayor's Character Breakfast

  •   City Scope (Quarterly resident newsletter)

  •   Web Page (www.lees-summit.mo.us)

  •   Cable Channel:  Comcast 7; Time Warner 2

  •   Covey Training

  •   Implement a character-training program with city employees

Initiatives to promote a Community of Character:

  •   Monthly character trait included in newsletters

  •   Include programs or discussions on character at meetings

  •   Recognition programs for youth praising good character

  •   Recognize and praise good character of citizens

  •   Help sponsor character activities

  •   Placement of Community of Character signs in the front of City Hall
